Is there a 64-bit version of Vegas?

I am running Vegas 6 and I feel quite comfortable with it, so it would be very nice if I could find the 64-bit version of that.

But if not, what versions of Vegas have 64-bit editions?

I have looked on the website sonycreativesoftware.com but I can’t find anything about 64-bit versions, except from an announcement on April 2007.

No official word from Sony yet on the release of a 64-bit version.
Even when it finally does get released though, odds are that you’ll need the latest version of Vegas to run it.

I also waited a while for other venders to bring out 64bit versions of software that I was using.

Vegas Pro 8 is running smoothly on 64bit XP. Hyper threading is also being utilized by Vegas Pro 8 which speeds up production time. I’m almost certain that Vegas Pro 8 is not a 64 bit application however it runs pretty smoothly on a 64 bit system.

Vegas is supposed to release a beta version of Vegas 64 in wide release but only to those who own Vegas 8. This was supposed to occur late last year. When it will is still unknown.

I might have put the cart before the horse here. I went out and picked up the core-2 duo, brand new motherboard, and 64-bit XP. I can’t even get my copy of 8.0a pro to install. What do you think my options are? VMWare? Craig says he’s running it. How did you get it going?

    Thanks
    Jeff
