I’d just like to add that the Alex4D Trim plug-in was another godsend. In X, you can, trim, crop or Ken Burns, but you can’t combine these. This free plug in enables you to crop, AND Ken Burns. I salute you Alex.

I would love this plug-in. Been clicking on every link i can find on his site. What exactly is the address where I can download this plug-in?

Try creating a new disc image from the CD. It might have gotten corrupted.

that said I’d wait for the next mac pro or just buy an imac or macbook pro.

do scrolling credit also take longer to render than most other effects? I’m asking cause it takes longer on my system.

Audio Technica AT4053b vs NTG-3?

I like our ATs a lot. Dialog always seems up close and personal. Does pick up b.g. noise because they are very sensitive but voice being recorded does dominate.

We use the ATs with a 302 mixer.

I also like the small form factor of the mic. Inexperienced boom operators seem to have an easier time with it.

Any chance that X starting saving to a different drive than the one you thought it was saving to? Check your media drive and see when the last update was. Check your other drives and see if there are any files related to your project being saved there.

You’re talking about the prolink cable? The only thing I can think of is the middle stitched together part allows it to stay on the cable when unwrapped. The cable being sandwiched in the middle. Then you need to wrap the soft end around your cable slightly to one side of the sandwiched part then wrap the self-stick part to it. It works.

Not the best wrappers, prefer wider, but super cheap and I can velcro two of them together for longer versions. Can’t tell from picture but they have a hole cut out so the cable loops once through the hole and it’s held onto to your cable when unwrapped.

For quicker release i sometimes put a small wrap of gaffer tape on the end to use as a pull tab.

Not seeing anything there specific to FCP X. Yeah its not the fastest card listed but it does not say it crashes any of the programs and is certainly faster than the gt120. Can I use both? And if not can I hook the mini display cable to the 4000?

HMMM. I had read that you use the quadro for processing power and not actually hook up your monitor to it. Plus the cinema display has this mini display port that is not on the 4000. I guess when I have some time to experiment I can get an adapter and put back the 4000.

You have an esata port on both? Works with firewire and I think thunderbolt. Never worked with other connections AFAIK.
