August 26, 2006 at 12:17 pm in reply to: How do you make that interlaced/video look like in The Ring?Dear Mr Mech:
Straight up (since you don’t seem to mind dishing out the advice along with a healthy dose of invectives): When you come into a community and ask a question that has been asked MANY times before and lazily expect that your umpteenth-time-repeat of the question is going to get you the “distilled wisdom of the board” handed to you on a silver platter, you are being naive beyond all reason…even for a human. I am glad you feel justified, but as you humans nearly always justify yourselves on just about any issue and from just about any side of the argument, this really should come as no surprise. ;o)
Your attitude has thrown your account into probation and if you choose to keep it up, you will find that we quickly tire of things like this and we’ll just shut off all your access to the Cow.
Consider yourself bitten by the dog.

[Mark Frazier] “… Maybe they’ll buy me a cup of coffee.”
Heck, Kathlyn and Ron will buy you a cup of coffee — me, I’ll let you drink beer out of my dog bowl — and you don’t even have to recommend our tapes or anything. Wait… you’d have to fly to California to drink it.
Never mind….
:o)
Best regards,

Upgrading in the middle of a job is a recipe for disaster, doggone it…
You should NEVER upgrade in the middle of a job. The forums here over the years have been filled with one story after another of people that felt the bite of a job gone bad, really bad — like a rabid job without its shots.
Consider this a warning from your pal,

Hello Kenton,
Since you seem to want to feel so important and knock someone who gives an answer that you do not like, then I will tell you Mister Big that if you ever try this again, I will close your account and send you packing in an instant. We do NOT tolerate this kind of disrespect for a moment here in the Cow. Kapeesh???
So heed the warning or take your bad attitude elsewhere.

[Aanarav Sareen] “I just found and booked a hotel for $32 a night…”
Hi Aanarav,
Are you sure that it was $32 a night and not $32 an hour?
This is Las Vegas after all and many hotels without casinos are really — oh, doggone it, let’s just say they’ll get a married hound like me thrown into the doghouse.
I hear they’re less concerned about casinos and are sometimes part of the red light district — though I can’t say for sure as you know that dogs are color-blind, right?

[SPACEMAN] “SPACEMAN would like to expess his valentine’s wishes to everyone at the cow. x”
Cowdog is happy for the love of SPACEMAN. I feel like I’ve been scratched behind the ears — or maybe given a big bowl of kibble and Lindeboom Beer. Either way, the love of SPACEMAN helps keep the fleas away…
Happy Valentines Day to both the terrestrials and intergalactoids present in the Cow.

Our leaders are much like the individuals seen in the Matrix. We hook them up to the Great Cow Teat in the Sky and then throw the switch so that they can be milked for information. No question is too basic, inane nor repeated too often to fall outside the purview of their appointed duties. It is their cowish burden to be ever at the beck-and-call of those wanting to disgorge them of whatever information they possess. Which is why we give them their “Milk me, baby! Milk me!” t-shirts when they sign on. Even if and when it’s information that could easily be dug into from the pointers that they have given earlier, it is their duty to do this. After all, like the “batteries” in the Matrix, they have a destiny and that destiny is to realise that the role of Great Teat in the Sky is to share — even if what sharing often means is more accurately described as a one-way-disgorgement than real sharing (which even a dog knows is a two-way thingie).

Nope. We do not want that kind of thing done and we even have the site set to detect and warn us of “site suckers”. We can and do disconnect from these kinds of connections and will even disallow any further connections from IPs that attempt this kind of thing.
While we can sympathise with your situation, allowing otherwise would quickly find the Cow’s content used all over the Net without our permission.
Sorry for the hardline on this but the Cow’s an expensive beast to maintain and losing control of its content would be a fatal mistake.

[Henry199] “Thanks everyone. Will give it ago today. Bless creative cow.”
And as my little pal Tiny Tim, says: “And God bless us all, everyone!” — even Ole Bessie in the upper left.
…and special blessings on the dogs for putting up with everyone and everything else — especially the cats.

DigiEffects CineMotion has a debanding plug-in that works well. I’ve even used it on some severe DV25 banding issues and it works well.
