Perhaps after 2 years of trying to fix the issue perhaps it’s time for new editors…
In the Modify tab select Audio -> Apply normalization gain
Have them apply this and set to -10 for primary channel, -25’ish for BG. This will give a ball park but will still need to be tweaked as it adjust the highest peak to the set parameter, so if there is a spike in the audio, the spike will be set to -12, and the overall amplitude will still be too low.Colin McQuillan

I did the quick and easy instal over FCS2 on my MBP and am not experiencing any trouble at all. Have opened, captured to, and printed from FCP, animated GFX in motion using all the new bells and whistles, and fired up a huge audio mix in STP without issue.
Regardless, Once I close my current projects and am confident there aren’t any serious issues with FCS (2009) I will do a complete re-install on my tower.

[Patrick Jones] ” Is there a graphical online with all the branches to this new compressor? “
Haven’t seen one. It looks a little crazy at first, but once you get a hang of the hierarchy it’s a snap to navigate.

I nearly knocked my forehead flat with this myself when I first came across the same issue a few years back….
Don’t understand why this wouldn’t be default ON, especially in the render sequence setting. Either that or these GFX overlay dissolves should cause a green bar until fully rendered as they don’t playback seamlessly without a “full” render.Colin McQuillan

This is by default unchecked. Without this checked some transitions from gfx/test over video can seemingly jump a field during the transitionColin McQuillan

Still there for me;
New Target with Setting -> apple -> other work flow -> web -> QT 7 compatible -> either D/L or Streaming and all the same settings that were in Compressor 3.0 are still there.Colin McQuillan

You don’t have enough handle on either the incoming or outgoing video.
Try trimming 15 frames off each piece of video you are transitioning between and see if that doesn’t help.

[walter biscardi] “We could not get our G5 Dual 2.0 to work with ProRes at all. “
I recently did a stretch of work on a system outside of my studio, on a dual 2.0 G5. The footage had already been captured to ProRes before i got there. Everything seemed to be OK for the first while, but when rendering, the clips from time to time would slip within their in and out point, yet keep the proper TC of the frame that should be playing. This happened most often when there was an overlay or dissolve over, or into the clip.
Recapturing the footage at 10bit worked like a charm and all jumped back into the proper place.

If you really want to play with some cool grunge textures on the cheap, go for a walk downtown with your digital camera.
Pick-a-part junk yards will also yield very cool grunge textures off rusted panels, oilspots, so on…
Play with transfer modes and animated layering for some cool results!Colin McQuillan

On the cheap, Behringer makes the volume go up and down with the best of ’em, but i find the construction of their gear matches the pricetag.
I have a Mackie control surface (control universal pro) and analogue mixer (1202-vlz3) and find the construction quality is unparalleled in their class. They cost a touch more then the Behringer stuff due to the fact they can withstand a bomb-strike and still sound great. I’ve used both and will only use Mackie in my suite.
Don’t have much to say about Pevey. The last piece of gear I had from them was an electric guitar I picked up when I was 13. Haven’t really seen their stuff at all around post-production.
