  • My text keeps shifting on the last frame of a dissolve

Posted by Larry Rochman on July 30, 2009 at 7:48 pm

I’m new to Final Cut and am having a problem with TEXT. After I create my text, I use the “Center” button and then use the wireframe to put my text into position. When I add a dissolve, my text makes a slight shift down on the last frame. If I don’t use the “Center” button and leave the text where it is, No Problem. My work around right now is to click the “Motion Blur” and that solves the problem. However, I then have to Re-render the whole piece.

Any ideas what I should be doing??

your rendering the green line right so it turns blue?

this usually happens during real time but un-rendered situations.

Also, check your render settings. See if there is a check beside Full in both the render selection and render all settings.
This is by default unchecked. Without this checked some transitions from gfx/test over video can seemingly jump a field during the transition

That did it. Thanks for your help. We’ve knocking our heads trying to figure it out. All the best..L

[Larry Rochman] “We’ve knocking our heads trying to figure it out. “

I nearly knocked my forehead flat with this myself when I first came across the same issue a few years back….
Don’t understand why this wouldn’t be default ON, especially in the render sequence setting. Either that or these GFX overlay dissolves should cause a green bar until fully rendered as they don’t playback seamlessly without a “full” render.
