Never seen the Michael Jackson video but you could try the Reshape plug-in in After Effects. I’m pretty sure theres a tutorial on creativecow (maybe I’m wrong) where someone morphs a face of a person into a sheep’s face. Also, you could try the excellent FREE winmorph plug-in that runs as a Premiere or Vegas plug-in or as a standalone app. Winmorph can be found at https://www.debugmode.com/winmorph/
Make sure your 3d layers are all toghether in the timeline, if they are separated by a 2d layer sometimes the render looks messed up. I remember reading something in that manual about 3d layers that are separated by 2d layers don’t interact correctly.

Set up your tracking feature reigion, and search area, etc. as usual but change the attatch point to wherever you like. Then apply the tracking data as usual.
Try turning on the “Extrapolate motion” option. This is supposed to guess where the tracked object is based on it’s previous movement, allthough im not sure how well it works ive never really tried it. Good luck.
