What raid or hard drive(s) r u playing the media from?
Sounds like a thruput issue -
I just disable this feature in the settings.

You’ll get better results with that camera. Shoot in the Hi-Def mode. 1080p
I think shooting in progressive mode will yield better keying results also. -
A couple years ago they came out with a study that said Sharpie type markers could eat away @ the plastics on media disc. There was a slew of new markers introduced that were for writing on disc. I have discs that are several years old with sharpie writing on them and no probs. So,..

Well, U could hook up the Analog compsite out to a Digi-Beta deck but still, look @ the camera u r capturing from: It is still 4.1.1 color space and that is where the problems with keying are. U could hook up the Analog compsite out to a capture card and capture live -10bit uncompressed – but again, same deal with the 1/3 CCD camera. Some people can pull an adequate key from DV footage. It’s subjective though.

Maybe the computer can edit everything for u?

If Apple suggest a re-install then maybe that is the route u should go.
Format the Hard drive in the process – it’ll take ya half a day including installing all your software.
Let us know if it cures the prob. -
There is software you can install that will record your screen into a QT file.
Or, get a hold of the orinal video and output the stills from the presentation and rebuild. -

Your deck will insert edit. Our AJ-D650 will also, I just haven’t got it to work w/ FCP. We used to insert edit all the time W/Media100 or In Sync Razor. But 4 some reason FCP won’t do an insert with these DVCPRO deck, none that I have seen anyway. Just assemble edit.
