With our DVCPRO deck I have to go into the menu and set the “Time Code Regen” to off’
Then, exit menu and set the desired new time code start
Then, go back into the menu and set the Time Code Regen to on’

Let us know how u make out

  • I spent 6 years working with M100 – loved it @ the time – but the support was falling away.
It is so limiting in what it can do. I sure did love that image quality!
Making the switch @ first was a bit overwhelming, but once u wrap your head around FCP, there is no going back. The things U can do in FCP far outway what U can do in M100.
Don’t look back – move forward.

If it were me?, I would create a project that just had the open and close in it and leave on the system.
Everytime U need it,…open that project and copy and paste it into your new show. We do this now with Show Leaders and grafx.

    I don’t believe FCP has tweening. Can u re-render the animation @ 30fps?
You can “contrl click” on a key frame and choose smooth (Ease in/ease out)

FCP will only didg DV50 from a DV50 deck or cam. It must detect the DV50 device.

Ya, drop shadow really affects clips. It’s a shame really. If I animate a still and animate the drop shadow – it’s not a smooth move. This is where it can be called Final Cut Prosumer

The AJA IO LA is excellent with component signal in and out. A great choice for analog needs.

The DV Codec is noisy. Unless you have a capture card to capture to a diferent codec – converting a clip from the DV codec will not gain u anything.

You can boot-up “holding down the mouse” to eject a stuck DVD/CD
