Yes, of course on the frame rate issue, but since all my media will be NTSC I can’t work in PAL, rather I would convert it when it’s done. I guess what i was asking is, assuming they can get an NTSC DVD player, would that letterbox properly on a PAL monitor?
My final delivery will likely be a DVD.

What Jerry says is true, but if you have the drive speed and space you are better off capturing to ProRes.

Videos are always darker on a PC, you need to adjust the gamma.

If your export is for a DVD, DVDSP will stretch your squashed movie out to widescreen. Set the track to 16×9 in the inspector.

Well, I did mention Photo JPEG for smaller file sizes, but another one you might look at is Sheer. It’s an amazing lossless codec that’s about half the size of Animation.

I don’t have experience using png sequences, but I used to do animations and render to targa sequences which I would make into QuickTime movies before bringing into FCP. The files were big, but I never had any problems with them. If your animation files are too big, you would ask the animators to render them to ProRes, or Photojpeg which would be even smaller.

Well, I was forced to use it once on an infomercial and I thought it was inferior to 8 bit. Just a subjective observation.
