Blu-ray support is not blu-ray authoring.

Burning a disk with apple designed templates is not going to get me very far.

Can I include ISAN numbers? Create a CFM?

Maybe I am jumping in too fast.. and theres more news to come.. but for me, this is a HUGE dissapointment.

On a plus side, shadows in motion ..YAY.

No Blu-ray update for DVDStudio Pro?

There’s talk of Blu-Ray via compressor and FCP, yet nothing in DSP?

Fingers crossed there’s more to come.

194 minutes is a bit of a push on dvd5. Its certainly possible, but your quality is going to suffer.

Assuming we’re talking NTSC here, I would think you would be in the region of 2.8 for your average rate and 5.5 for your max.

As for audio, I would use 2.0 Dolby Digital at 192kbps.

I always use compressor to encode the files and import into DVDSP.

    good luck.

Off the top of my head…. (not sitting at my FCS)

    Zaxworks do a 3d warp plugin…

the CHV folks do something similar, Magic 3d i think its called…

    else,

Try a cylinder distort with a top and bottom curved mask perhaps?

    Good Luck

July 13, 2009 at 10:12 pm in reply to: ProAnimator FX – In motion. No ‘True’ 3d?

Hi and thx for the reply.

I read about making the PAfx layer ‘2D’ in the addendum doc, however this confused me further. In motion, a 2D layer in a 3D project in motion is not affected by any camera movement. This still for me at least seems to be true for my PAfx layer… with or without the ‘use project camera’ option enabled.

My intention with PAfx was to use it to import a small number of .obj models which then need to be placed on top of a large JPEG image that has been rotated 90 degrees along the x-axis. Motions camera would then be used to fly round this map with the models from PAfx keeping their relative positions.

Kind of like flying round a chess board.

One thing that confuses me is that I get satifactory ‘3D’ results from motions camera if I work with text from PAfx, but primitives and imported models just stay flat 2d. I haven’t tried any eps or vectors yet.

I am sure its bound to be something I am doing wrong, but for the life of me I cant work out what that is.

Now that sounds like a plan!

I’m off to Lewis in Sept to shoot some do at Callanish. Might be worth a wee detour….

My local course, Barshaw in Paisley, is a nice enough course.

The Fereneze Club over the hill in sunny ‘bawrheed’ is a much better bet than that Barshaw park ‘pitch and put’

Just watch out for my son and his mates stealing yer balls at the blind 14th… and trying to sell em back to you!

    Hi,

I suspect the official and most reliable answer to your issue would be to buy a Matrox M.Key.

However, for SD stuff at least I have had no problems with the downloadable codec.

    for example @ https://matrox-vfw-mpeg-2-i-frame-codec.software.informer.com/
