Is there a red line above your video tracks at the top of the timeline?

If so, you need to render first. The codec of your capture may be the issue.

I end up just scrubbing the values in the effects window to avoid the obvious bug.

You may also want to check what codec works best with Convert-to-DVD. While “Microsoft DV AVI” is outstanding to use most of the time, there are on occasions that I use plain old “Microsoft AVI”, and configure the video codec to Canopus DV. Some programs work better with that.

  • One way to work is to only use linear key frames until your camera movement is the way you want it, and when your done, easy-ease all the keyframes.

I would say make the card in photoshop, with an alpha channel cutting out the Mick for compositing, and import that into AE along with your image sequences.

Since I have never used 1.5, I will assume ALT+N does not perform a rolling edit on an individual track, as it does in CS3.

A shining black floor is achieved by simply making a “reflection” of your object – which is just an inverted copy of that object – and reducing the opacity of that reflection a bit. Maybe add a bit of blur. If it is placed on a black background, it will look like it is on a black floor.

I’ve animated a still image of a tumbleweed passing thru the scene. It looked pretty good with motion blur turned on.

Jim, the reason you can’t use your method is due to the parenting operation. Because Null 3 is parented, it has no position data or scale data or rotation data prior to its own keyframes at frame 202.

I’m sure there is an expression you could use to find the real world space and orientation of the master null, but I will have to leave that up to the experts. Also, an expression can be based on conditions like frame number, which would allow you to choose which null to use to claim data from.

But try this. Make the master null and footage layer 3D layers, and create a new camera. Move to the last frame of the comp and parent the camera to the master null. Re-frame the camera appropriately by adjusting the z-rotation and zoom level. The footage is now stabalized.

But is this what you were looking to do? Or are you just trying to smooth your pan?

BTW – Correct me if I’m wrong, but you don’t need to seperate the track into three nulls. You can simply adjust the spline in Mocha as needed and it will continue to maintain the tracking data.
