  • Does shutting off CUDA help? I’ve seen some render bugs fixed from doing that.

Only by hand keyframing. No expressions in PP and never heard of any plugins.

  • Adobe Encore seems to be the natural choice… no?

You need to think in layers, like in photoshop. Make a duplicate, CTRL-D, of your face footage, and mask out the nose in the top layer. Now you can flip that layer and reposition as needed!

Your keyframes are not linear, I bet. Select all the keyframes and set the spatial and temporal interpolation to linear. Rough out the animation like this first, and then work on the easing motion.

  • You can also convert the expressions to keyframes. Renders faster too.

You can certainly try it masking and timeremapping – but fast cars retimed to move slow won’t remove the motion blur, so look out for that.

But Joseph has the right idea IMO. Two shots, similar lighting, doesn’t even have to be in the exact same position because you can ajust that in AE, and then simply make a split screen composite.

  • Or just stabilize the footage around the speakers, precompose the layer, and then add the mask.

And of course, editing the keyboard shortcuts, you can bind any keys you want to perform the task.

Search for some Keylight tutorials. As powerful and simple Keylight can be, there are a lot of settings within the plug-in, and understanding how they work will fix your problem.
