If the camera is locked down or just panning and zooming, the effect can be done with what you have. If the camera is tracking, the perspective changes may be more difficult to reproduce.
Start by tracking the wall you want to apply the sticker to. If you are new to AE, then I would highly recommend searching the internet for Mocha tutorials. There are tons of them and they will be invaluable in your learning.

Mind you, these are default settings. You can manually change the keyboard shortcuts to anything you are more comfortable with. You can even asign shortcuts to things that don’t have any default keys associated.

Well, I think the pecentage is the only way to go. But as long as the aspect ratio stays the same, 800/960=.833 (83.3%) and 320/960=.333 (33.3%).
So the conversion to any size is really not too complex.

Try using the sleeping layer at opacity 100%, and put the the spirit layer on top with the opacity at 50%. That should get you mostly where your trying to get.

Silly, first you need to buy a $150,000 shuttered stereoscopic camera before editing the footage in CS3.

For the Monty Python look, your method would work great! Convert your audio to keyframes and make a simple expression to control the mouth movements to the audio amplitude.

I was going to suggest exactly what Alex offered above. Possibly it is just one corrupted file hanging your project. It has happened to me.

Would making the titles in Photoshop and importing a .bmp back into AE help the look?
I’m having a hard time understanding what non-digital titles looks like.
Is it the perfectness of typeface and alignment and sharpness that is causing your grief?
