  • [Tip McPartland] “The only issue would be playback on a consumer BD player — hopefully the BD-R or BD-RE discs will play in the Samsung,”

I’ve often read over at the avs forums that the Samsung will not play back recordable BD titles.

    How long is your piece?

I have some experience doing HD-DVD’s in Dvdstudio pro and they will playback from the Toshiba just fine as long as the firmware is 1.xx and not upgraded to 2.0 However, you can use ulead’s hd-dvd creation software and the burned disc will work just fine in the Toshiba with 2.0 firmware. according to the folks over at the avs forums.

what I would like is a simple program that has IN, OUT and maybe a comment or two, that exports to an .xml file that Final Cut can read as a capture list.

[Ben Broad] “Oh, and could we get a WYSIWYG text tool? Avid’s Type Tool is pretty bad, but it is better than this.”

Have you tried the Boris 3D Titler that comes with FCP 5.x??

It’s WYSIWYG and way better than fcp standard titler.

I definitely would have left…in a polite way as you did of course.

Lately I’m real quick to let clients know what they’re getting into with HD.

If there’s any doubt about funding it properly, I advise them that SD would be best and now they know what it takes for future HD projects.

half my hair is gray already.

Is that the best and quickest method?

I used to take the clip out of the timeline, right click and change it under the properties.

I like your idea much more.

I would export a 10-bit uncompressed hd timeline then convert it with mpeg streamclip.

It can get the job done

make sure you burn with the UDF file system.

make sure you do a verify after the burn.

those 2 items should take care of it.
