OK, here we go. My finished projects are exported as a quicktime movie (not with the Quicktime Conversion, but the very first option in the the export dialogue), and an AVI (with DV/NTSC compression type, with the compressor set to best). I then take the exported files and place them in a burn folder in the Finder, then burn a DVD @ 8x speed.
When i deliver the DVD to my client he claims on some days the files copy onto his PC with no problem, and some days the files appear to be corrupted and cannot copy off the DVD at all. He’s running an Intel dual processor with 3.0 gigs of RAM, Windows 5.1 service pack. The only thing i’ve noticed so far is that the files that appear to be corrupted are rather large, over a gig, and the ones that work are just a few bytes smaller than a gig. I’m stumped, frustrated, confused. If anyone has a clue as to what’s going on, help would much appreciated.

make sure you burn with the UDF file system.

make sure you do a verify after the burn.

those 2 items should take care of it.

When we export quicktimes for viewing on a pc, we’ve had good results with Quicktime Conversion (sorenson3 codec).

Always had issues using the final cut quicktime (on a pc).
I personally steer clear of AVI, if possible.
