1 stream should be fine.
I always work in 10-bit regardless, but 8-bit would also work.

A revised timecode dvd is what would come after that where I come from, or a client supervised session where they approve it and make some other changes.

I installed 7.2 and all it did was break flip4mac (audio rate issue)

You can get the beta now and it does fix it.

To solve that problem, I would make a timecoded window dub DVD for the person to make notes on and go from that.
any other method just seems complicated by comparison imo.

I had to, it was costing me an arm and a leg LOL.
the last system I had was a nubus media composer 6.5
it worked great for offline though. -
I found I HAD to use “HDV 1080i Firewire basic” for the Sony V1U camera.
When I used the “HDV 1080i Sony” easy setup, it would become unresponsive every other clip capture.
Though this was for capturing with HDV and not the AIC codec.
