Help With Markers
Hello, I was hoping that someone could help me with a problem I have. I am a long time user of FCP and I am familiar with versions 4 through 6. I use the lastest version 5 at work. My boss1 wants to create markers on the entire video sequence so that boss2 can mark where to make changes. However, timeline markers dont move with the video when doing ripple deletes, so it is easy to get lost. So we tried something wierd, I made a nested slug in the audio and ran it the entire length of the clip for the purpose of marking. But this didn’t work because if that nested slug was used in another video, those markers would be in the slug. Clip markers didn’t work because we can have up to 8 video tracks in one project, and all the tracks would get marked.
So my question is this: Is there a way to mark the entire video(which could be 30min to 1hr) with out using timeline markers, yet still having the markers move with the edits?
P.S. Boss1 suggested taking a color bar, copying it along the length of the sequence and nesting it. We would make the track invisible so it would not be seen. It makes sense, but there has got to be an easier way.I hope this makes sense, if it dosen’t just ask and I will try my best to describe more.
