capturing HDV
I am trying to capture footage from a camera. every few SECONDS it keeps aborting capture and telling me that the “end of the tape has been encountered” when there is no reason for it to do so that i know of… the timecode is there, the record wasn’t stopped in the camera…
i am using apple FIRE WIRE BASIC and HDV – Apple intermediate codec.anyone have any idea why this is happening?

You don’t do this. You use an HDV Easy Setup so both the Device Control and Capture setup are HDV.

I found I HAD to use “HDV 1080i Firewire basic” for the Sony V1U camera.
When I used the “HDV 1080i Sony” easy setup, it would become unresponsive every other clip capture.
Though this was for capturing with HDV and not the AIC codec.
