Make your scans 853×480. FCP will automatically change the pixel aspect to rectangular. If you intend to zoom or pan on the images, make them double that size. No need to go any larger.

Look at your clips in the browser. Is there a check mark in the Anamorphic column? If not, then add the checkmark.

    Did you render?
Also, don’t concern yourself with DPI. Instead, set-up your scans according to the frame size of your project. If you intend to zoom and pan across your slides, make your scans about double the size of your project’s frame size.

  • I would think that it would be OK, as long as they have not used the license to upgrade to a newer version.
I wonder if it’s possible to de-register the product, so that you can re-register as the new owner. That way, you could buy the upgrades later-on.

Thanks Ian. Do you think Toast will be affected? I have v. 10.0.8.

Actually, Epson just finally released the new driver for Apple’s Image Capture program just a few days ago. I’m hopeful that the diver for their software will be out shortly. I spent $400 on my scanner and I still love it, and would like to keep it.

Thank you Gary. That’s a great suggestion. I’ll check it out. Apple’s Image Capture works, but it’s pretty limited. I spoke to Epson, and they still do not have a Snow Leopard version of their software.

OK, I got the printer working. I basically had to uninstall and then re-install. Scanner is still a no-go. Has anyone had any luck getting the 3200 software to work with Snow Leopard. Apparently, Epson has no drivers past 10.5, and that one doesn’t appear to work.

You have to select “Non-Controllable Device” under Device Control in the Log and Capture Window.

Is “Multiclip Playback” selected in the RT drop-down menu?
