Make sure you don’t have filters still applied in FCP7. I’m still new to Resolve but from Color sometimes the filters would stay on after the roundtrip process.

Ditto final question.

I’d probably get the element panels if they do support it. But it would depend on whether or not you can customize it or how well it’s laid out. I just wish we could customize ANYTHING on the Wave panels. I’d settle for simply knob tolerances but I would lay things out much differently if I could.

For those of us using the built-in software scopes, is there a “skin tone line” you can add to the vectorscope? I actually loved the color dropper in Color which displayed HSL values of each pixel which was good for a quick references. That would be a great feature to me.

September 12, 2011 at 2:20 pm in reply to: Running 2 Nvidia GTX470’s in a Mac Pro – addtional power solutions?I was considering this VisionTek for my setup with a 5870 and 470 but it needs another PCIe slot. With my BlackMagic and HDMI output slot I just don’t have the space for 2 double-wides, power and video output card. I was 2 slots short actually. I haven’t ruled out drilling an extra hole just for these extra cabling needs and making it look proper but for now I just went with a GT120 to be up and running.
If you have an extra slot then feel free to make it so.

Anyone use this?
https://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=5681047&sku=V261-0222The alternative would be this:
https://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=7300825&CatId=82In my case the peak power of the two cards combined is around 400W when Apple’s site says that PCIe slots output up to 300W. However I think that means from the board itself and not from the power supply directly as with these cables. Also the GUI card shouldn’t be nearly maxed out.
Is this option safe to try?

I’m curious about this setup. If you wanted to use the 470 for AE or Color could you just plug your monitors into that card instead of the GT 120? Would this be necessary to take advantage of it in these programs?

I’m curious about this too. I have the 5780 in my machine now and am ordering a GTX 470. They both require two power cables to run as far as I know. What external power options are there? Is it safe to simply get another power supply and run the cables in? I don’t really want to downgrade to the GT 120 unless it’s the only option. Thanks!

August 8, 2011 at 6:59 pm in reply to: what is the latest dual Color/Davinci workstation build advice?Question about power: I’m looking to get a GTX 470 but have read it needs a lot of power.
Right now I have the ATI 5870. Will the built-in MP power supply handle these two or am I going to need to sell this and get a GT 120 for GUI and the GTX 470 for Resolve? (I have the 5,1 MP)
What is everyone doing for power needs if you’re not using an external PCIe extender? Many thanks!

Has anyone seen a tutorial on how to flash a GTX 470?
Also, Sascha, what Apple Power management extension did you have to delete to work it in Lion?
