Just a thought, maybe the Memory/Cache Setting in the Final Cut Pro System Preferences in Final Cut Pro is set to low. You can set the Video and Still Memory allocations separately, give it a whirl…… that is my 2 cent guess…

    Well Niels,
It is running much better then Final Cut Pro 6 and seems to have more overhead to use. I don’t see any reason for you to not go ahead and take the plunge. I have cut two projects so far off it and it is great.

Oh, I forgot to mention, it is running on my Apple G5 Dual 2.5GB/8GB RAM, 2TB Storage.

So go for it on any platform.

November 13, 2009 at 3:31 am in reply to: Capturing With Canopus ADVC-100

You said you have the Canopus connected to your Mac via 4-6pin FW cable. Do you have a power supply conected to run your Canopus?

The Canopus will run without a power supply, via 6pin – 6pin FW cable, but not the way you have commented on. Either use a 6-6pin FW cable or add the optional power supply, so you can use it with the 4-6pin FW.

    Good Luck

Well i have AjA LO on the 400 bus and two Lacie 500gb drives striped on the 800 bus. Added a 3 port FW PCI card and have it running out to two FW hubs for isight, printer, portable drive, DVD DL burner and Epson Scanner. So the G5 works well.

    Alex,
Try turning off your ethernet or wireless connection in the Network Preferences and see if it still crashes
