When you export it as an obj it converts it to a mesh. Make sure the vertices are already the way you intend to visualize them in AE. In the extrude object, change it to quadrangles with regular grid on, this will even up the vertice count along the mesh. Also don’t set your spline to adaptive, set it to regular and give it a number thats closer to your quadrangles max distance setting.

    A few things I noticed:

If you go frame by frame it doesn’t seem that close matched. A lot of keyframes and speed curves seem off. For example the time it takes for you to backstep is at least 5 frames faster than the rendered.

Theres something off with the framerates too, it’s like you’re matching a 30fps footage with a 25fps render.

Also the difference in scale may tip your perception off.

Ordinary material, uncheck the matte object, and check compositing background.

Did you checked on frame blending in the composition or in the footage itself? Both need to be on for you to preview it. If both blending options don’t solve your problem, time remmaping won’t. You may resort to use a third part plugin like twixtor.

Try selecting the track and go to animation -> keyframe assistance -> convert expression to keyframes.

I believe that’s called anamorphic flare. Magic Bullet Looks has that as a filter and it includes some customisation along with a lot of presets that already utilize them. (some paid, others come with the package).

Looks is the only plugin that I’ve seen that kind of effect built in. But you can fake it with some blurred flares like Ted suggested, though the real effect should respond to the image’s exposure.

how long is it taking to render? Do you have auto save on? within a lower interval than the render time?

All I can think of is some disk problem on writing something on the file, have you tried changing export locations?

The time remmaping property was behaving normaly here, the curves were nothing like that on your SS. Though I had to convert to After CC/windows.

Try choosing a path to save the image on those blank spaces that say “File…”
