Can’t you select the edges that you want shown in cinema and convert them to splines and render from that? with sweeps?

Hi. You can search for digital distortion tutorials to see a more step by step guide.
But you can build one yourself with a few things such as the venetian blinds effect to create the lines, hue/saturarion effect to remove the color. shape layers for the dots and animated masks to create the whole composition.
keep in mind those type of effects are all about the timing that each element appears and moves. Its something that happens very fast and are usually synched with audio to make it believable.

nothing changed though. You must have never used before a child layer as the target for the pickwip. With the previous link you are essentialy telling the flare to use that value as its position. The value being the diference from the parent/child relation and not the layer’s position in relation to your composition. which is what the new expressions does.

For example the green dots, are you revealing them with a stroke wipe or do they scale up? Maybe they’re already on the screen and you’re moving the camera?
These are important things to consider.

And I bet you’re not parenting your flare to it. You’re linking it through a expression, right?
Anyway, instead of the pickwipped expression you get, paste this:
a=thisComp.layer("null 1");
a.toComp(a.anchorPoint)Cassius Marques

nothing should make it THAT slow. You can however twirl down the output while rendering to see which layers or effects are the culprit. Maybe you can narrow it down to something you can change.

January 19, 2016 at 7:06 pm in reply to: Using time remapping to loop just doesn’t workWhat you described is the expected behaviour. You should reconsider your workflow.
[Kevin Patnode] “So if I precompose some of the parts that I want to loop, then the other parts will no longer be parented to the ones that are precomposed and no longer move along with it.”
If they are parented in the first place and you wanted them to loop you should precompose them as well. If you don’t want them to loop why would you expect it should keep moving with what you just precomposed and looped?
What I’m trying to explain is that you’re approaching things in reverse. If you can be more specif at what you’re struggling with I can try to go about some way you can solve it.

January 18, 2016 at 7:13 pm in reply to: Using time remapping to loop just doesn’t workthe simplest expression for a loop would be
time%"x"“x” being the loop duration, in seconds. So a 2 second loop would be “time%2”. This, applied to a time remmap property.

January 8, 2016 at 7:56 pm in reply to: Increasing shape layer size in increments controlled by a Slider Control?Use an expression on the size property.
Something along the line:
value + [135*effect("Slider Control X")("Slider"),120*effect("Slider Control Y")("Slider")]If you animate your slider from -12 to 12 it will go from -1620px to 1620px as smoothly as you set your keyframes influences.
