Render Taking Way Too Long
Hey Creative Cow,
I’ve been having this issue for awhile, but I still haven’t gotten a solution yet.
My videos are taking almost 7 hours to render when it seems it should be only taking 20 min max.
This is what I am making to show you instead of trying to explain, this is not meant to be advertisement.

The vinyl spinning along with the dot is an mp4 that it just laid over, the rest is the part that is rendered (everything in AE CC 2015)
As you can see the lines in the water align with the music.My computer specs are:
13in Macbook Pro (2014)
16 GB of RAM
3 GHz Intel Core i7But I don’t think it’s anything my computer can’t handle?
I export the video in Media Encoder CC 2015 as a YouTube 720p mp4.I would render from CC 2014, but I don’t have access to it anymore (it’s complicated, but I don’t).

Could re rendering an MP4 be making it slow?

nothing should make it THAT slow. You can however twirl down the output while rendering to see which layers or effects are the culprit. Maybe you can narrow it down to something you can change.
