the problem is that I think you won’t be able to avoid the overlapping using any available particle engine. You’d have to use a very customized thinking particles setup. Thats why I said it was hard to do since I can only imagine it takes some complex python programing to figure out future paths colision and avoid them.

That seems very struggling for a begginer to acchieve. For a start, just a flock behaviour that doesnt intersect with its own trail should be a hard thing to do, let alone all the rest.
how are you trying to do this? Any specific particle simulator?
Anyway, good luck on that and keep us updated if you manage to do it. I’d be interested to see how far you can get to.

how many cubes you intend to end up with? cause to me it seems a lot of manual work for just those 3 cubes.
But unfortunately I can’t think of a way to automate that.

Are both softwares updated? Can’t think of anything else…
maybe if you can upload the file I can test it here.

a little more specifics if possible? how are you animating the pop ups. Scale? modifiers? mograph?
Have you tried caching the animation? converting it to PLA?

yeap, unfortunatly you are correct. I does come in displaced. Thats an odd behaviour indeed, one I thought didn’t happen.
You can either reposition by hand (each) or create a boundry mask the same size of your comp. I believe the second method being easier since you can bring all your paths in once then just do the copy pasting.

is your .ai canvas the same size as your AE composition? Is your solid with the write on effect the same composition size? Are you importing your .ai layer while keeping layer dimensions or not?
I believe one of these settings combinations can solve the problem.
when everything is the same size (pixel wise) you can just copy paste the path from illustrator to AE. No need to import. Things will match.

paste the position to a null, select all keyframes and adjust it, you can link it to another null to make any scalling/move easier. Unlink it after you’re done then copy paste again to the effect.

February 15, 2016 at 4:29 pm in reply to: Rendering Assistance Please – Tried lots of settings, getting problemsTry to render to an intermediate format, like a JPG sequence. So you can at least see if the problem occurs within the project (and with a determinate frame) or with the encoder.
You can stop and see which was the last frame to render. Your problem will be on the next one.

February 10, 2016 at 4:17 pm in reply to: Prevent “self collisions” before object hits the ground?can’t you scale them down a bit to the point they don’t explode, do and cache the simulation then increase them back up?
that and manually turning on colisions when the first piece hits the ground may do the trick.
