October 23, 2017 at 5:27 pm in reply to: Rendered 3D-cam Video was blurred

[Jarr Khets] “So, I turned off the Continuously Rasterize, so the camera worked again, but when I rendered the video in H.264 (Quicktime), it appeared that the scenes with the use of Zoom-in 3D Camera are all blurred.”

For compositions that check box is called collapse transformations, for layers, it is continuously rasterize.

If you think about it, you’ll understand why its happening. You need to set the layers inside your precomposition to 3d too. Thats the reason they are not responding to your camera once you checked collapse transformations on.

And they are coming out blurry because even though they are being continuously rasterized inside the precomp, AE ain’t being asked to redraw them in the main comp because you turned of the collapse.

IF all of this fails. It will be a matter of depth of field as Walter suggested.

Start by previeweing in Full frame? You’re only rendering 1 every 4 pixels (by using quarter), and you’re complaining AE is eating up one. It is actually eating up three.

October 6, 2017 at 12:21 pm in reply to: Shape Layer Nesting / Layer Nesting issue?

Without looking too closely to that tutorial, What dificulties creating a null and linking the layers would create? I usually do those rigs, almost in the same way just precomposing and using nulls.

And I tend to treat my shapes as raster since I usually keep them precomposed to make puppets non destructable when I need resolution changes.

The particular effect has world tranform properties (as many other forces), If they are changed from the default it would explain the offset from the emitter position.

Reset the effect to the white spheres point emitter. and pickwhip just the same to the null…see if things work.

I honestly have no idea what your problem is. On your first post video, your particular version shows three axis in a single property. (you’re saying “Z is not there”, But it is!)

what’s causing you trouble? You can make it work in either way. (having one 3 axis property Vs. having 2 properties adding up to the three axis).

[Jerry Smith] ” I don’t know exactly where the video will be displayed”

Its usually the medium that decides the format and the specs. Since you don’t know, the smallest size that looks good to you is probably what you should aim for.

[Jerry Smith] “…when does YouTube decide to show the 720p…”

Sorry, no idea about Youtube’s innerworkings. But they will convert the video nonetheless, so if youtube (or any online plataform for that matter) is the case. You shouldn’t really bother with it, if you have a decent connection, go for a high bitrate/quality spec and let the plataform optimize it.

  • There are two folders (at least in windows) that plugins get installed to. If you haven’t found it in the ordinary one (Program Files\Adobe\Adobe After Effects CC 2017\Support Files\Plug-ins) you can search in the common folder (Program Files\Adobe\Common\Plug-ins)

  • I’m still not seeing the whole comp window. There is an indication on the top right corner which renderer is active. But it doesn’t matter.
Just make sure that you’re using the standart and not the raytraced one (by going ctrl + k, 3d renderer tab). Also you may want to view it in 100% scale, so pixels don’t interpolate.

Nothing else comes to mind. I’d have to see the project to help you more.

    good luck.
