    Try to separate the XYZ coordinates on the null layer and then link each one individually with the flame layer. The effect is called “Separate XYZ position”. Hope this will help you

    Even though Particular is a 2D layer, the effect itself looks at the camera in the comp and renders internally as if it were 3D.

    You should just be able to Alt+click the Position property of the Emitter (Master) group in Particular and use the pickwhip to select the Position property of the Dummy001 layer.

    Personally, I find pickwhipoping to be a bit of a drag, so here’s an alternate option: with the Position property of Dummy001 selected in the timeline panel, choose Edit > Copy with Property Links. Then select the Position property of the Emitter (Master) group and Paste.

    However, if you really want to go from a 3D property to 2D through the camera’s perspective, there’s a simple expression with toComp():
    l = thisComp.layer("Dummy001");
    l.toComp(l.anchorPoint);

    Replace Dummy001 and the reference to l.anchorPoint as necessary.

    Thank you very much.

    Well.. it’s crazy. I just tried the same on my laptop. And it works, because on my laptop the Z-Position is separated from the XYZ. I am using the exact same After Effects and RedGiant Version.

    check this out:

    As you can see in my Video.. the Z Position of the Emitter is NOT separated.
    How can I separate the Z Position of the Particular Emitter?

    Kinda weired why it’s different on my laptop???

    They are different versions of Particular.

    yes.. on the one that has the Z separated… it’s the DEMO.
    And the one I showed in the Video is from the full Trapcode Suite I bought just a few days ago.

    Something is not working like it should.

    Do you know how to install the RedGiant Update Software?
    Or where to get it from?

    need to contact their support I guess.!
    It’s really strange!

    I honestly have no idea what your problem is. On your first post video, your particular version shows three axis in a single property. (you’re saying “Z is not there”, But it is!)

    what’s causing you trouble? You can make it work in either way. (having one 3 axis property Vs. having 2 properties adding up to the three axis).

    Can you post that project file you’re demonstrating in the video?

    The particular effect has world tranform properties (as many other forces), If they are changed from the default it would explain the offset from the emitter position.

    Reset the effect to the white spheres point emitter. and pickwhip just the same to the null…see if things work.
