More or less. I’m saying the author had a single emitter that randomly emits particles in that area. (Like a layer emitter).

One output from whichever he used to generate the beats (could be soundkeys) is “linked” to the emitter value in some kind of number of particles = x*soundkeysoutput. The greater the input value, more particles are created.

You’ll need something that could take a height map from luma. You could get that to some extent with Trapcode’s Form.

Or go for a 3d ap, like cinema 4d that does that easily.

It doesn’t seem to be properly reacting. It’s more like It has soundkeys directly linked to the emission counter property. The particles are just being created more when you have a high pitched wave. They are static and have a higher size that quickly decreases. Particles are just “bursting” in when you have a beat (or high pitch).

That seems to be the normal behavior. I’d suggest you parent it to nulls. Use one for each axis, and rotate just that axis in each null.

[Jayson O'Connor] “What’s wierd is that his oldest video dates from 2016 and he has the same effects, I don’t think Trapcode fluid dynamics was available back then”

That is a correct assumption. I was mistaken. So either a more robust particle system (ones in 3d applications). Or a custom thing he did and he wants to keep his secrets.

The good thing is you can come up with something similar but still original then.

Well, the latest release of trapcode particular (4) has fluid dynamics so you’re probably right. I don’t have it so I can’t test it.

What you did is exactly what one should do. So I’m not sure how to help. Maybe post a simplified project? A duplicated comp before and after your changes so I can visualize the whackness?

  • well, from your description you seem to have already considered the basics. So I’ll go with the possible “its a bug” approach.

You can try to force it to respect the frame rate going into the advanced tab of the composition settings.
    Or you could pre-render it.

Well, I can think a couple of things that may or may not help. But It all depends on what exactly you’re going for. So I just put up an example that you can consider. Take a look: 13092_particularlogoccow.aep.zip (I’d imagine the final animation would be rendered and reversed)

If you need an exact vanishing POINT. I’d suggest you just avoid the trouble of automation and animate stuff by hand.

Well, from my experience they always say its 1080p until the point that it’s not (they go up the chain until they actually get to some technician that explains to them they were wrong) .

Since those proportions are not the same as FHD, I’ll advise you to either bug them until you get the proper resolution OR get written confirmation that you should be delivering FULL HD so you’ll avoid the client complaining later.
