about a week ago i asked about caldigit drive and the lacie, you recommended the caldigit. i bought that drive so that i could edit in dvcprohd.

well, i didnt explain much because there’s alot to explain about what i do in life. but since im sitting here waiting on compressor that says 5 hrs remaining, (while fedex overnight closes in less then 3 hours) i guess i should.
i dont know if youve ever tried, but going from hdv to dvcprohd 720p60 THEN to dvd (using compressor) looks a whoole lot better then going from hdv straight to dvd. and ive got like 2 hours to get a 1 hr video to fedex… do you know a faster way?

  • effect on exprorted file?
    -no
    effect on performance?
-not unless your computer is slow, it does effect how long final cut takes to start up though i believe.

there’s nothing to render since im in an hdv timeline. and if the in point is at the beginning of the clip, the first couple frames are jacked up on the exported file.
