I should add that you can use the ‘Export’ function in the Audacity ‘File’ menu to save as a Windows .wav file and drop that into your Premiere timeline.

Audacity can convert your audio track to stereo. Export audio only in Premiere then go (here) and follow the tutorial. Sony Sound Forge will also do this in much the same manner. Audacity is a free editor you can get from audacity dot com.

I may be way off here (wouldn’t be the first time) but I have replaced audio in Pinnacle and Avid NLE’s for a long time simply by muting the original audio track, add an additional audio track, import the desired audio and place it on that track – then adjust to taste. Although I haven’t had a need to try it in Premiere, especially with a QT .mov it should be possible there as well.
QT Pro (for $35 US) is the cat’s meow for a huge amount of conversion and edit functions. Worth every bit of the cost many times over.

What version of CS? What sound card, and what opsys. Further, what file format is the audio in?
ASIO is probably not the problem but a unhealthy mix of the factors above can be.

Thanks for your reply. I am using CS4 and under ‘Window’ in the menu bar I only see Metadata. Enabling that, I see a list of possibilities but a twirl-down for Premiere Pro Project Metadata isn’t available. Am I looking in the wrong place? I see no other available window.

In Effects & Presets, and if you type in Twitch then hit enter, does it show up in the list? Also, another way to verify if it’s installed correctly is to open a new comp, add a solid (any color) and then use the dropdown menu called ‘Effect’ in the top toolbar.
Is it listed in that list as either ‘Twitch’ or do you see ‘Video Copilot’ with an arrow pointed right (which means that there’s a child menu available) and Twitch is in that?
If neither of the above are fruitful, something went amiss in the installation.
Effects & Presets won’t display it automatically and one usually needs to use the included Search Function to find a particular item.
