Thanks so much for your work. I learned much about color isolation from your tutorial as well. This is a big addition to my toolbox and will help me understand composition in a much better way.Hat’s off to you sir.

I write javascript files in NotePad, save as .txt and then rename the extension to .js
You could try that and rename as .jsx. It actually may work.

Thank you sir.
On my way there!

[Richie Tovell] “Of course, running all that data back and forth on just one drive is bound to slow slow rendering time down, it never even occurred to me, presently I just use separate partitions.”
Just part of the learning curve we all go through at some point and it’s good that you now know about the huge bottleneck that is occuring.
After separating my opsys drive from my data drives I saw a very appreciable increase in performance. Moving up to a 10,000 rpm drive for the opsys (instead of the typical 7200 rpm drive) gave me an even better increase. (My fav NLE loaded up in 10 seconds instead of 22)
If you don’t want to go that route, even a SATA 7200 will give you faster throughput than an IDE – if that’s what you currently own.
Get started like there’s no tomorrow with rearranging drives and their functions. Redoing your opsys drive is a pain to be sure but this is one time you’ll be very happy you did.

You do have another option.
Here’s the senario. If you are running a PC and you know what drive has what on it, you can disconnect and take your lost files drive to a friend who knows how to do these things or your trusted computer shop guy who has file recovery software and have them hang it on their machine to run recovery against.
The recovered files will usually have some name that’s different than you would expect but the extensions will remain intact. Since these programs don’t usually give you an option of specific folders to target, you’ll more than likely end up with a lot more files than you’d think but they can be burned to a removable disc, (Cd-DvD) and taken back home to sort out.
Just don’t overwrite precious data by using that drive for any reason until you can retrieve your files.
2nd Senario
If your data-project files are on a different drive than your opsys, you can safely purchase and install a file recovry program and do this yourself. In no case can you install a program on the same drive as your files because of the risk of overwriting something that could otherwise be recovered. -

Layer Comps To Files.jsx can be found at Adobe Exchange. Just copy the name into the search box. Great script!

You may want to take a look at this link suggested by David Bogie just today.

Click the “Play Button” in the My Vimeo box and be patient long enough to see a tutorial Dean Valez does on the word ‘Splash’. I think you’ll find it quite rewarding.

[Jason Brown] “But where is the line? I know that’s completely subjective”
It sure is subjective because only you know your limitations. The line is as wide as your ability to help others without eating up too much of your own ability to produce for your clients, for your family, and for yourself. The line is also as wide as your tolerance levels and your ability to give freely out of what you have been given and what you have learned. Call it your largesse if you will. The rest of the equation is your temperment for it.
It’s good that you ask yourself the question you pose because it sounds like you want to know what’s fair so you can be that way to all interested parties. Good idea. The unknown variable is whether your friends want to be fair as well and the only way to find that out is to ask.
It is a hard thing to do sometimes if you think it’s going to put a wet blanket on relationship but you also have to weigh the value of your relationship with your friends along with that of everyone else in the circle. Somewhere in all of it there’s a do-able medium in being able to relate to it all in proper perspective but there’s no stock answers for how and how much. You’ll find that when you think and walk out what’s needed to make all of it happen in the right measure.
Your friends should understand.
