ATI 850 XT for your primary computer display and then maybe an AJA Kona 2 for your video board. And then there are all the BlackMagic Decklink possiblities. I don’t know how the Kona and Decklink compare in performance however.

It would seem that the DL DVD+R media at 8.5GB would be perfect to archive P2 8GB media. It do know that media can span 2 P2 PCMCIA flashdrives so I know that would be a concern.
I know for a fact the latest LaCie DL DVD writers the LaCie d2 have write speeds of DVD-RW: 16x4x12x; DVD+RW: 16x4x12x; DVD+R DL: 4x for $189 list. The LightScribe technology writers are slightly slower at DVD+RW: 16x4x16x ; DVD-RW: 8x4x16x ; DVD+R DL: 2.4x for $199 list.
The higher capacity P2 media should come out just about the time the higher capacity HD-DVD and BlueLight DVD’s should be coming out.

movies causing movies made on the pc to look dark when played on macs.
After the movie is created, you need to execute the following command
from a shell.gsar.exe -sgama -rgggg -o filename.mov
obviously, to do this, you need the gsar program which can be found at
https://www.jsifaq.com/subL/tip5800/rh5801.htm-s is the search flag, so it is searching your movie for the “gama”
attribute
-r is the replace flag, so in this example it is replacing gama with
gggg which means nothing to quicktime, so in effect it has no effect on

DVDxDV will get video off of unencrypted DVD’s as pristine as possible. But then again, most DVD players have component out. But then again, it might be progressive scan.

Wow! A very simple and elegant solution.
The disc copying and burning utility in Jaguar and Panther doesn’t always leap to the front of my brain because it was such of a pain when copying files to a data CD/DVD. It use to be a two step method of copying files to a temporary disc image and then copying them again to the actual CD/DVD. Roxio Toast was my preferred method on Panther because it only copied the data once–to the CD/DVD. But of course this would be a two step method anyway if you only have one DVD to copy from and then to.
