I would duplicate your base sequence and then just Copy new clip from your Browser Bin and (hold the Control key for Context Menu over your old clip) Paste Attributes and select Video Attributes:Content in your new–a.k.a duplicated–sequence timeline.

Just about any encoding you can do in QuickTime Pro individually you can create presets in Compressor. That way you can adjust the parameters in the new presets until you get your desired 2MB file. You can then batch encode your FCP timeline in Compressor for the right combination of quality and file size–i.e. you are encoding the same file with different encode settings unattended from wihtin Compressor’s batch mode.
