    Hi,
I want to post some videos on the web that I edit in FCP HD 4.5, problem is not everyone can see these in Quicktime(version 7.02.) what format should I save them in? Or should I post in more than one format. Also, where should I get a Windows media to convert to this if needed?
    thanks for your time, John

And the easy answer is MPEG 1 available in Compressor but locked to 320×240.

    A more definitive answer:
Web Delivery Codecs by Ben Waggoner.

The two high quality streaming format right now H.264 (QuickTime) and .WM9 (Windows Media 9). Presently downloadable is also Windows Media Player 10.

    Your question should read:
What is the most recognized format for [insert your prime web audience here–i.e. Windows users or Creative Mac users]?
