Template for slide presentation
Posted by Ken Weiss on December 18, 2005 at 9:56 pmI’ve put together a slide show presentation with filters and transitions. Is there any way i can use this as a template and insert a new set of pictures into the old slide show without having to redo the filters or the transitions?

December 18, 2005 at 11:54 pmI would duplicate your base sequence and then just Copy new clip from your Browser Bin and (hold the Control key for Context Menu over your old clip) Paste Attributes and select Video Attributes:Content in your new–a.k.a duplicated–sequence timeline.

December 19, 2005 at 2:55 pmMake all your clips in your timeline offline. Open up the sequence and rename it for your new project. For your new project, name your clips with the exact names your template has. It helps if you number them chronological (1,2,3,…). Now for the magic. Select your clips in your timeline and reconnect your media. Render your timeline and you have a new project.
The harder and more time comsuming way of doing it is using the replace edit function.

December 19, 2005 at 4:14 pmRemarkable and amazing! I cannot tell you how much time this will save me in my business.
Do you happen to know of a program that will allow me to take DVD’s that I produced and pull an editable version of a QT mov from it or a video format that I can edit in FCP. I use Studio Pro 4 to do my DVD’s and also a Tivo machine. This is NOT for copyrighted material.
