PlaceOnPoints2 would put many (or one) objects on a deformed surface. Still works on if not Mac Intel or Win64. Ditools can too but makes the original object disappear (unless there’s a setting for that)

If you add a Capsule (or anything really) and it’s selected it’s properties (it’s attributes) are shown in the Attribute Manager on the lower-left of the C4D interface. There you will find the capsule has for tabs of info Basic, Coordinates, Object and Slice in the Object tab (selected by default) you will find Height Segments amongst others. It controls how many divisions the capsule has along it’s length. Play with all the settings, there’s no substitute for experimenting. Check out this example of the capsule as a Power Button. Done fast with rudimentary textures.

I would use a bend or a wrap deformer. Just make the capsule longer and use lots of height segments.

  • Should work but you have to turn Caustics on in both the light and render settings. To smooth it out go for more photons, if the image is dark the energy may have to go up a way. More photons = more time and depending on how crisp you want the reflection it may be better to fake it as Adam says. Particularly if the mirror is (probably) flat.

not prefs – properties. Click on the material tag and the Attributes Manager (lower right if default) will show the properties (attributes) of the tag (because you clicked on it). Click on the Tag tab there (you should not have to it should be selected by default) then change the tiles.

easiest way is to go into the Material Tag’s tag properties and change Tiles X and Tiles Y to be larger (more tiles (repetitions) across the object)

For background of the Left, Right, Top windows choose Edit(Edit of the view window not the main program edit menu)/Configure then click the Back tab and add your movie there. It will animate automatically.

Otherwise use a background object or a plane and put your movie in a material (color or luminance channel) and put the material on the BG Object/Plane. To get it to animate as you scrub the timeline you have to go into the Illumination tab of the material and check off Animate Preview.

Yes, apply a Compositing Tag (Render Tag) to the object and uncheck seen by camera. Make sure Seen by Rays and Cast Shadows are still checked (they should be by default).

Yeah, like Matrix Extrude it’s one of those things that constructs but does not modify. Depending on what you are trying to do Crumple looks a lot like a fractal noise displacement in a material. That *can* be animated (but you can’t see it without something like DisplaceView in the discontinued Jenna).
There is also Noise Deformer https://www.welter-4d.de/fplugs/freeplugins_en.html
…and likely some obvious choices I’m not thinking of…
