It depends on the setup, there’s more than one way to do it but probably you want to go the Shading tab of the Sketch Style Tag and check ‘Enable’ there but set ‘Object’ to Off. That allows you to use other textures to define the shading but keep the lines from the Sketch material. A quick example using two textures, one for color and one for cracks alpha’d on top – but it can be done with one texture and different set ups as well. It’s set up assuming I understand your description, grey with cracks and the cracks disappear as it goes to white and with noise instead of a psd for cracks…

Is Tangential checked in the Align to Spline tag?

Also is the logo supposed to stay straight or should it bend along the spline? You could also you a Spline Wrap deformer (if you have MoGraph) if that’s the case.

You need to make a Cloner and put it in Mode/Object with Up Vector/None and Mode/Surface. MoGraph is really deep, you can do a lot by combining settings so there is no easy way to tell you, you have to do some tutorials and play with it to get a grasp of what it will do. Here’s quick example, the Seed value on the Cloner Object / Object tab is very important, I just scrolled it’s value until I got a distribution of the ‘clovers’ until they did not intersect each other.

Haven’t tested it myself other than to play with it months ago. IIRC it could break up stuff well enough but growth would be a problem and it’s not complete yet…

…or (possibly) Hair but MoGraph would be easier

  • I was thinking in terms of the presets in the Content Browser not trying to write a new banking routine. Check this simple example out

no idea unless you are modifying something in the settings of an object of texture and the render stops for that….

how is the bird done? It looks like a bump map possibly. That part looks like a coin but the text not so much because the shadows give away that the text is sitting on the surface and not part of it. Bump maps (from limited views) or displacement mapping would look more natural (usually) since that’s more what a coin is – bumps on a surface. Without doing that (it’s more of a texture thing than a modelling thing) to do it like it currently is I would sink the text into the surface until all you can see is the rounding and caps. And of course a metallic texture, if you have reflection on it now it may not be showing because there is nothing to reflect, try using the environment channel.

add a “TP Align with banking” from the Content Browser.
