    Hey everyone,

So, I know this is a large can of worms, but does anyone know of any ways to procedurally split and break apart geometry in Cinema4d? Imagine a crack in a flower pot starting to grow, and evolving to the point where the pot itself is shattered. I know I can probably fake something with a displacement map, then cut to pre-cut geometry, but didn’t know if there was a simpler way to do it. I am also open to the possibility of purchasing a 3rd party plug-in.

    Thoughts?

    Thanks in advance!

The closest you can get is with the Explosion FX deformer or thinking particles’ Pfrag node. Might be able to do something with PBlurp, too. But none of those probably offer the kind of fine control you’re looking for, unfortunately.

Thanks, Adam – I’ll look into it!

Does anyone know anything about a plugin called destruction and/or where I can download it for v11.5?

Haven’t tested it myself other than to play with it months ago. IIRC it could break up stuff well enough but growth would be a problem and it’s not complete yet…
