Probably the simplest way is to put the camera where you want it and make it a child of the object. It depends on how the object is being moved on whether that’s the right thing though.

What’s it look like (the H parameter) in the the F-Curve editor? Is it a nice smooth exit from the keyframe or not?

I don’t do a lot of multipass (so maybe someone else knows better) but if you have the Image layers in but leave out the RGBA layer that seems to give the right sort of thing.

You really have to choose some scale that you can convert everything to then use that in C4D. That’s a pretty big range but it will really depend on what the smallest things you are going to be dealing with are so you don’t have to use too many fractional measurements.

August 13, 2010 at 5:39 pm in reply to: Cloth Iterations not doing it?

I just set up a couple spheres in 10.5 (standard and Icosahedron) with Stiffness 5000 and Flexion 100 Rubber 0 and moved them across to 11.5 (the manual says it will automatically set the settings to get the same behaviour) and the Standard sphere came out Stiffness 100 Flexion 100 and Iterations 216 and the Icosahedron sphere came out Stiffness 100 Flexion 100 and Iterations 133. Both were Rubber 0. On both I can bring Iterations down to 10 and they are very similar, it only starts getting really soft with Iterations below that. It may depend on the shape or perhaps it’s too Rubbery?

have you modelled it that way – image on a surface beneath the plastic (which has thickness)? Or are you trying to do it with a single texture?

in the F-Curve editor if you select all 3 dimensions keys you can move all 3 bezier handles by just moving one of them. You can do this with any number of keys even on multiple objects you can even select keys on both the start and finish of a move, the keys on the opposite ‘ends’ will move opposite to each other adjusting the ease in and out at the same time.

The texture tag with the alpha should be to the right of the ‘base’ texture. They stack bottom to top going from left to right. If that’s how they are set up already I’d need to know more.

you can set the World Grid spacing in the Configure/Back dialog of any viewport. The Dynamic Grid settings are there as well and under Objects/Modelling there is the Construction Plane which is the same thing but it’s plane can be controlled. Not that you can get numbers on either way of grid display but you can control it’s behaviour.

Randy’s correct about the Caps but I think a Bulge isn’t going to work the way you want. Probably it will be better to make the extrude editable, Connect the parts, Optimize then select the points of the cap and Move using a Soft Selection set to Dome at a radius about equal to the outer diameter.
