HI all, need some advice. I am working on a series of images made from the pencil sketches, where I want to be able to visualize them in real world settings. For example, here is one attempt made using C4D and VUE X-stream, well, mostly VUE x-stream:

But now I have to do a cut-away, and actually draw these objects to scale, ie cone with hollow center core, levels within an interior, etc. The dimensions that I am working with are in hectares of surface area and in depth in feet (~350). So where do I begin? Tuts?

My experience with C4D is mostly just bringing in Poser runtime materials (or VUE objects), struggling a bit to get a scale set, and the just going with that, but I have never tried to do anything with any real world precision. Is C4D the tool for that? Well, any advice would be great! thx.

You really have to choose some scale that you can convert everything to then use that in C4D. That’s a pretty big range but it will really depend on what the smallest things you are going to be dealing with are so you don’t have to use too many fractional measurements.

yes i see. like with model trains or something? 1/64? All the calculations are manual? Can’t I say if this object is this size, make everything relative somehow. I’m crap at this kinda math.

Also, if working in “world” how come that dimension is not set? Or in other words, where the heck is the ruler? ha!

Well, thx, I’m sure I will grasp this sooner or later:)
