  • Cloth Iterations not doing it?

Objects with the cloth tag are collapsing flat against the floor. I’ve turned up stiffness and flexion to 100% and tried iteration values ranging from 1 to 5000 (I’m in 11.5 so unfortunately I can’t go above 100% on either stiffness or flexion).

What I’d like is for the shapes (basically rounded rectangles) to retain some of their volume when they collide with the floor. They look cool with the cloth tag applied, just can’t get the actual desired effect.

I just set up a couple spheres in 10.5 (standard and Icosahedron) with Stiffness 5000 and Flexion 100 Rubber 0 and moved them across to 11.5 (the manual says it will automatically set the settings to get the same behaviour) and the Standard sphere came out Stiffness 100 Flexion 100 and Iterations 216 and the Icosahedron sphere came out Stiffness 100 Flexion 100 and Iterations 133. Both were Rubber 0. On both I can bring Iterations down to 10 and they are very similar, it only starts getting really soft with Iterations below that. It may depend on the shape or perhaps it’s too Rubbery?

Nice! It was the rubber parameter. I think the shape has something to do with it also, but it’s much closer now. Good idea translating 10.5 to 11.5!
