haven’t heard of any render engine that will allow you to exclude an object from DOF I would think compositing in post would be the way.

you can have the Dynamics tag Dynamic/Enabled parameter off (unchecked) and then keyframe it to turn it on whenever is appropriate. That method has the advantage that all the cloners can occupy the same space and not ‘explode’.

GSG updated their stuff to work with 20, you can dl the latest version on your download page (on their site) I assume the light kit is part of that

probably there is a Coffee node in the xpresso. Coffee was deprecated so no longer works. xpresso does and python does but xpresso that uses a Coffee node would break. No way around it except to update. Are those greyscalegorilla softboxes?

you have R20 which has changed from Falloff to Fields, it’s the same but much more powerful. Look for videos on Fields from last years Siggraph or the free stuff (unless you have full access) on Cineversity and other sources – greyscalegorilla has some, noseman has some etc.

says here that the max temp is 100° so you are within range but I don’t know anything about whether that is too close to the max to be good in the long run. I do know the general preference in desktop cpu’s is to keep them below 80° and even better below 70°. the linked file has GI turned off (and no image to go with the file) and the only light is a spot light not an area light, it does render here but it takes a long while to prepare the displacement etc.
