Not sure about that system, but I can do a RT dissolve and a graphic over it in full DV quality without any dropped frames. I’m only running a Dual 1 ghz G4. If i keep it in safe mode I get the green light on just the dissolve.
But on any real time system I’d always render before going back to tape.

So you’re not going to edit and color correct the 60 min version, then cut it down to a 54 (I think you mean 44) minute version? That would seem the logical approach. Are you saying you’ve already offlined the 60 and the 54 and NOW you want to color correct and online? If you did it the former, then of course everything links up to the same footage.
Possibly if you select both seqeunces and do a batch they would link to the same media. But I don’t know how you’d ever color correct one sequence and expect it to jump to another. The color correction info is in the sequence. Not the media.

In your sequence settings, under video processing, make sure you’re rendering in YUV, not RGB.

I’m running a dual 1 ghz G4 and I can play DV movies in high quality just fine, and their bandwidth is 4 times that of the H264 demo clip.
I can only get 7-9fps playback on the demo clip. Odd. Maybe it’s a QT pro thing? I don’t have 7 pro yet.

You can 3 minutes of broadcast DVCam footage on a CD. So it’s certainly possible.

It means you accidentally hit ctrl+z and turned on the luma checking system. Just means that your levels are fine (on that frame). It’s up there in the menus somewhere. Just press ctrl+z again to turn it off. And just press it once. Not 3 times like you press the “post direct” button.

Yeah. Nobody cares what the engine is that is used for conversion to different formats. It should basically say export reference movie or “other.”

Anamorphic is generally not extra width, but actually less height. Unless you’ve got a very expensive camera. It actually uses less of your CCD, the center 16:9 part, and then stretches it vertically to fit the 4:3 ratio.
But either way, just make sure you tag it as 16:9 footage and drop it in your non 16:9 sequence. Scale it up until it crops out the “extra width.”

Curtis you always rock. I’ve been looking for something like this for awhile. Albeit not very hard. I installed it and after a few configs had it runnnig. Seems to work simply and easily. Thanks!
