There’s an even cheaper way to do this, nearly instantly… and at no cost, in a pinch.
Turn on any camera that you have (lens cap can stay on) and connect its composite output to the deck’s sync input, and loop it to any other source that needs to be gen-locked.
The camera’s output will generate a signal that the system can lock to.
