As you already know, a recorded music clip does not, in itself, HAVE a BPM reference INSIDE recording software.

Only music that is actually generated in reference to the Mac’s “clock” (like MIDI) will have such a direct adjustment.

But, you don’t need to look for something to “find” the BPM on the track (since you already know it).

So, you only need to determine (mathematically) the DIFFERENCE (percentage) between the recorded music’s BPM and the drum machine’s BPM…
and then make that percentage adjustment to the TEMPO of the recorded tracks
(and enabling the “Pitch-Correction” to match the pitch of the original tracks.)

If I understand the question, sounds like you are making a classic FCP editing mistake.

If you just take any clip from Timeline “A” and put it in the Viewer to alter for use in Timeline “B”, you will alter (unintentionally) the original clip in Timeline “A”.

CORRECT METHOD:
If you want to change (create) a NEW version of a title in Timeline “B”
(but KEEP the “old” original on Timeline “A”)…

You must first actually EDIT the “old” title to Timeline “B”,
THEN: double click that title BACK INTO THE VIEWER for updating.

This will only alter the “new” version on Timeline “B” and leave the original version unchanged on the first Timeline “A”.

You need to Make the clips “Offline” AND “remove” them from the disk.

If it still doesn’t work after that:

The first thing to always try is to Quit FCP, Restart the Mac, Open your FCP project and try again.

A great way to do this is to use “FCP Rescue” a free Apple Script that will Trash the Preferences for you (and restore nearly all of your user settings afterward).

Another method:

Simply add another Video track above the 4×3 footage on your timeline.
On it, edit the “Slug” and mask out the center area to the 16×9 aspect/position you want (with Mask Shape > Rectangle > Invert).

This will allow an easier way to “slide” the image around (you’d actually move the clip itself with the Motion tab) and the mask will just sit, positioned properly, on the track above.

Here are the steps (including the first ones, which you have already done.)

In the bin, Select (highlight) all of your (incorrect) clips.
Then, Control-Click (and HOLD the mouse button down) on one of them and choose: “Make Offline…”
Next pop-up window, choose “Delete from Disk” > OK > OK.

Locate the “Tracks” column in the Browser.
Now, make sure that all of your (formerly incorrect) clips are still Selected (highlighted) and…

Then, (in the Tracks column) Control-Click (and HOLD the mouse button down)
on one of the clips and choose: “1V 2A” (1 Video Track, 2 Audio Tracks).

All of the clips should now show this new setting.

“3-Band EQ” will increase the LEVEL of any frequency that is already recorded.

If you want to “synthesize” lower bass (create it an octave lower that is recorded) that would be an outside audio program with than kind of filter.
