Go deep into the folder structure untill you find a big file.
This is a Mpeg1 file.
Copy that and convert with any tool of your liking to uprez/convert to your desired file format.

Next important question,
when did you restripe TC? After ingesting for the offline?It should not make any difference in TC if you capture offline or online.
However, what can make a difference if you have digitized trough some kind of converter that added a delay to the video.So what exactly did you do? What equipment, how was it connected, is your offset constant, how big etc.

Basicly what you need is tcIn, tcOut, shotnames/descriptions
You can output that from FCP as text, and you can import that in AVID.
Notiation is sligtly different, but with a text editor, convert text to table, swap a few collumns and you are all set.Going the EDL route is a needles excercise, and AVID import of EDL’s is, well, funny…

Dunno about the TC trouble, but why on earth do you want to recapture from bad to even worse?
If you have so much footage you need this low datarate you must have tons.
It’ll take you a week at least to capture to fill a drive that will cost you 100 bucks.Energy, time and wear of machines are all more pricy than going out, get an extra drive and be done with it.
Personally i would capture everything in DV and never go back to tape.

from my personal experience (and i’ve duplicated a few thousand discs)
If you burn discs, forget the specs. Do not do a hefty VBR unless you need a very long show. If you do VBR, set the max to 8000, not higher. For short shows VBR does not do anyting, you might as well max all video since you got space. Do not exceed 7800 total bitrate (including audio.For laptop compatibility it’s even worse. Strict CBR at a max of 5000.
Use good discs. Tayo Yuden or Ritek.
Now this goes for burned discs, if you replicate all this does not apply, you can play by the specs.

Some systems use TAB between the columns, some use three spaces.
Be very cautious when changing an EDL in a text generator, always keep the original someplace safe.Bouke

As i’m currently working to do exact this for .SCC files, can you sent me a sample script file? (I assume it’s STL, but whatever…)

What i do is render them in my own render engine to 24 bit, but if you can script Photoshop you’ll be fine too.
Here is the trick:
Create the titles (in RGB) on a pure white BG, with 168, 168, 168 grey font and add a pure black border.
If you must, scale them to the desired output resolution.
Next, apply the DVD Subpicture plugin from Chris Linke. https://home.comcast.net/~c.linke/dvdsub/
It will map the colors to pure colors, giving you one color for anti-aliasing between the border and the text. Map the colors in your DVD authoring application where you set the anti-aliasing to grey 100%, and you have the best possible titles.Hth,

I’ve just done almost the same, except that i’m in PAL…
What i’ve found on 24 P on DVD is that it does not make interlaced “in between” frames, it just doubles a P frame every 8 frames….
So only if you got a long movie (over 90 minutes) it’s worth while to reverse telecine…Reason i’m chiming in is that i’ve written a nice tool to do subtitles, and you might benefit from it.
