Simple a to b effects, like wipes and dissolves, generally translate well
although the info is just speed and direction.speed changes may not, and usually because cmx speed notation is a note called a Motion Memory or M2 that some systems can read and others cant.
you should contact someone at the post house who has done this workflow, and find out what he/she needs, and how they address issues.

the double keystrokes unique to the tools menu cannot be remapped. You can remap the first keystroke, but for waht ever reason the additional keytaps need to cycle thru the variations do not remap.
for example, take the s key. one tap gets slip, twice gets slide, and 3 times gets speed.
If you remap it all you get is slip.

WAs it here that i read the sales of dexktop machines, both PC and mac, are starting to be eclipsed by the sale of laptops and notebooks?
something like desktops down 8% and Portables up 15%?
i think the days of the 7,000 desktop mac are numbered, albeit a high number.

I am trying to move medai between FCS 1 and AE CS3 by using the sheer codec. I have tried a number of different ways and combinations, as well as read all the support literature and the closest i was able to get
was pretty close except for a gamma shift.the suggested workflow was to take a uncompressed 10bit Y C-r C-b clip (Captured into FCP)and export it as 10 bit RGB (Sheer). Then bring it into AE, and work on it in 16 bit color space with no color management, Export from AE as a 10bit Y C-r C-b 4224 (sheer again) which you then subsequently import into FCP. BAM, perfect color translation!

Hey!
i exported a Native (Uncomp 10bit) from FCP, then brought it into compressor, which allowed me to make a 10 bit RGB Sheer.
after RoundTripping to AE, i brought it back in as the 10 bit Y C-R C-B, and it worked! Absolutely Dead On!

I have AE on the same machine as FCP, will removing that codec screw anything up?
