I have 2 – 1TB lacie drives and 2 500 gb drives. One of the TB drives just died on me and I lost about 1/2 of the info on it. Just yesterday one of the 500 crapped out on me. Do yourself a favor and go with the OWC (otherworldcomputing) drives. They have great enclosures and good cooling. I think the trouble with the lacie drives is the lack of cooling.
I’ve never had a bad drive in over 20 years. I’ve had drives that seemed a bit tired and I had time to back them up but these drives gave absolutely no warning. STAY AWAY
