Thats my mistake, thinking DV, shouldn’t write something till I have my first cuppa.

Do Project audio settings match the Cam settings? alot of cam’s default settings are 12bit vice 16bit and sometimes people forget the check the Cam’s audio settings before shooting to make sure they are the bit level they want.

You may have a background app/tsr running thats causing the dropouts/interuptions, try running EndItAll 2 or Taskpower 2(newer) and stop everything except what necessary for video work.

How large is the file you are trying to put on the DVD? You don’t want to try to use all available space, leave a bit of wriggle room.

Its either two computer video or 1 computer video & 1 TV video, not all three at once. -

If you are trying to convert a real media file to something else, lotsa luck, there are few converters and like you found out, iffy, also the file may have content protection, real media is usually a convert to not convert from.

I don’t use macs anymore since I’m no longer consulting, but do talk with ex clients that do, and they have problems with adobe pc software on bootcamp mactels, it may have to do with how in depth you use it. -
Premiere doesn’t use the sound card per’se to process audio except as a I/O device, the sound card doesn’t add or detract from audio imported with DV and digital audio files like WAV, MP3 etc that are used in premiere, I find on-board sound is fine for monitoring Premiere sound with some decent speakers, to do more quality work with sound itself, importing or exporting analog audio I like to use external devices that A/D convert the audio outside of the computer.
Check the drivers that came with the MoBo there maybe ASIO drivers included, if not generic ASIO drivers are available on the net. -

There is no advantage that I’ve seen, system efficiency is best served by Processor speed, enough memory, data source drive speed, and how the data souces are arranged.
