Like Steven says you can rename the VOB files, but be aware that not all VOB(mpg) files are created the same, some will work without a hitch, but you maybe deep into a project and have a bunch of mysterious hicups, and not know why, like mike mentions Elements handles VOB(MPG) files much better

The “i” after the number stands for interlaced 50i, 60i

If you are going to be doing SD delivery, You can downconvert the HDV footage in cam or deck to DV and edit that, I do that with Z1/FX1/HC7 footage and mix it with shots from anamorphic VX2K/PD/TRV900, Then you still have the HDV footage for archive later use. -

What are your project settings and source footage for SD? I usually cut SD clips, apply a couple of effects and play the timeline in realtime out to my external monitor without rendering although the workarea is redded out.

To do that you are going to need more horsepower, on a AMD overclocked 2X4800+, five minutes of SD NTSC video with two effects applied with a 8.0 upper bitrate takes about an hour when exported to PAL, you should have been around when it took overnight to do the same, thats why alot of us used hardware encoders. -

DV and DVcam contain the same data, you can output DV to a DVcam deck,
you can use one of https://www.convergent-design.com/ converters to get to the other decks, or use a card from https://www.blackmagic-design.com/ , while outputing to uncompressed may seem like a solution, up converting doesn’t add quality as popularly believed and posiblely can add problems in the up and down conversions. -

I think a group bought out a bunch of on-line musicians sites, and you will come up with a least a half-dozen or more of them, I stopped looking when I ran into enough similar(same) pricing and mostly the same products to cofirm this, so I stuck will MF which I think was the original, audio stores that were different were mostly the on-line camera stores like B&H, Adorama, etc. B&H being the most reliable, this is a good site for info for online buying:

For NTSC to PAL conversion either version will work, Procoder has more other functions, also like Dave mentioned if you have AFX it will also convert.
